NLE to attend DRI Life, Health, Disability and ERISA Claims Conference in Chicago

Attorneys from Nelson Langer Engle will be attending the DRI “Life, Health, Disability and ERISA” Claims Conference in Chicago, Illinois in April of this year. The conference focuses on ERISA cases, and it will strengthen the firm’s knowledge and ability to argue these complicated cases in a difficult legal arena.
Nelson and Langer speak at Insurance Law Seminars in Spokane and Tacoma

Attorneys Mike Nelson and Fred Langer both spoke at the annual WSAJ Insurance Law Seminar. Fred spoke at the seminar in Spokane, and Mike spoke at the seminar in Tacoma. They both presented important information with respect to subrogation issues, which continue to be important topics in Washington State and to the Washington State Association for Justice (WSAJ).
In May, Fred Langer will be speaking directly about this case to the Washington Brain Injury Association and discussing the rights of injured parties as it relates to their insurance companies.

Approximately 14,000 children in the state of Washington have an autism spectrum disorder. In some school districts of the Puget Sound region, autism rates are estimated to be as high as 1 in 50. Join the Seattle Autism Guild Dash team and help them raise $25,000 to enhance family support services, see more patients, and conduct pioneering research.
All donations will go directly to support Seattle Children’s Hospital’s Autism Center, a vital community resource and a national model for providing comprehensive, family-centered care.

NLE had a fun night at Safeco field working one of the concession stands on behalf of the Brain Injury Association of Washington. We slung dogs and poured beers for charity. And the Mariners won! All in all a fun night was had by all and money was raised for a very worthy cause.

Fred Langer to speak at multiple conferences

Fred Langer has been asked to speak at a number of functions in Seattle and Chicago this year (2011).
The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance asked him to join them on August 24, and October 12, to discuss the relationship between cancer patients and their claims for disability benefits. These will be held at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
He has also been invited by the American College of Rheumatology/American Rheumatology Health Providers to be a guest speaker at their Chicago conference on November 6. As of now the presentation’s title will be: “Disability: Clinical Facts, Legal Fictions, and Practice Strategies – Legal Fictions: Long-term Disability.”

Zack Lystedt walks with 2011 class.

Congratulations to Zackery Lystedt. He has been participating in commencement activities and was able to stand and walk with the 2011 graduating class at their graduation on June 10.
Zack will be receiving an award from the Tahoma School District entitled the “Zackery Lystedt Award.” This award will be in place for the next 20 years. Each year Zack will present the award during commencement to that year’s most deserving student.
